MUSCLE RELAXING INJECTIONS (BOTOX)

BOTOX injections have been used with great success in the treatment of early/ moderate wrinkles. Botulinum toxin is a natural, unprocessed protein molecule that acts at the level of the neuromuscular junction and prevents the formation of wrinkles.

It is a treatment that has been used for decades without any major side effects, and is therefore considered very safe.

BOTOX is mainly used to treat wrinkles affecting the upper half of the face and sometimes the neck. Treatment consists of multiple, relatively painless, injections and lasts 10 minutes approximately. The effects of BOTOX are reversible and last up to 6 months.

FILLERS

Hyaluronic Acid is a natural constituent of our skin and helps keep our skin soft and hydrated. With age, our skin loses its content in hyaluronic acid. First wrinkles appear and our skin becomes less elastic and less hydrated.

Hyaluronic acid comes in the form of a gel and is used to fill deep wrinkles, mainly affecting the lower face. There are many different types of hyaluronic acid, depending on the type and depth of wrinkle that it is used for.

Furthermore, hyaruronic acid can also be used to enhance lip volume and contour.

The effects of hyaluronic acid can last up to 12 months.

NON SURGICAL FACELIFT

In modern skin rejuvenation, a lot can be achieved by injectables and other non invasive treatments only. Identifying our skin needs is the first step of a successful outcome. A combination of BOTOX and Hyaluronic Acid can achieve remarkable improvement, and those combined with other methods such as mesotherapy, radiofrequency and thread lift, can in some cases avoid the knife altogether.

SKIN HYDRATION

Our skin is naturally soft and plump due to its constituents, the most important of which is water. Maintaining a well hydrated skin is serious business, especially amongst those of us who lead hectic lives. Stress, dehydration, smoking, pollution, sun exposure, age, poor dietary habits and many other factors can leave our skin looking dull and dry.

In order to look after our skin properly, we therefore need to start at the basics: skin hydration.

The idea is to give our skin a boost by providing an extra helping of essential molecules and factors, which are important in maintaining skin hydration. But getting those into the skin can be tricky business.

One of the functions of our skin is to act as a barrier to anything trying to penetrate its shell, coming from the outside. This is why even the most expensive cream, will only penetrate the outer layers of the epidermis and its effect will probably last a day or two, before those skin layers are naturally shed away, and its effect lost forever.

The most effective way to boost skin hydration is mesotherapy. Mesotherapy is a technique where, via a very fine needle, a cocktail consisting of vitamins, hydrating molecules and firming factors is injected under the skin and that way allows us to achieve hydration of the whole thickness of skin, coming from within.

The effects of a mesotherapy course can last a few weeks and are the equivalent of a very effective skin hydration treatment, giving extra glow and plumpness to your skin.

LIP ENHANCEMENT

Fuller lips are a common desire, especially among young female patients. Hyaluronic acid of very fine quality is used to give volume and summetry to lips, to enhance their contour and sometimes to create a more pronounced philtrum.

It is always very important to maintain facial harmony and to create natural, but improved, results. Avoiding exaggeration is key, especially in this area. The aim is to create a fuller, more youthful appearance to the lips and surrounding area.

Another common complaint is the appearance of fine perioral wrinkles, especially among smokers. These can also be treated by hyaluronic acid, as well as certain types of mesotherapy.

RESTORATION OF VOLUME

As our face ages, a lot of the wrinkling and sagging of the skin can be due to a combination of skin laxity as well as loss of facial volumes. Facial volumes are inevitably lost as we age, and those can be losses in terms of fat content as well as bone density (zygomatic bones).

In some cases, this can be responsible for a hollow appearance of the face as well as sagging of skin and soft tissue at the level of the mandible (jowls).

Restoring those lost volumes will give a more plump and youthful appearance of the face and will also lift and restore the position of any sagging skin.

THREAD LIFT

Resorbable sutures are used to produce a subtle but visible "lift" in the skin. This is a very good non-invasive treatment for patients with light to moderate skin laxity, affecting mainly the lower face. In addition to being ideal for lifting the skin, threads also combat aging by stimulation of collagen. This is important because of the vital role collagen plays in the aging process and the condition of our skin.

This process provides support for skin, as well as ongoing and progressive rejuvenation for the facial tissues. Patients who have a thread lift for the purpose of stimulating collagen will notice a gradual improvement in their skin's tone and firmness.

The effects of a thread lift are visible for 12-18 months.

PERIORBITAL REJUVENATION

The sensitive, periorbital area can be really difficult to treat. It is usually the area where the first fine wrinkles make their appearance. Prevention is better than cure, and this is particularly true in this case.

Fortunately, a number of advanced techniques exists to benefit this area both in preventing further damage as well as restoring a more youthful appearance.

Common treatments in this area are periorbital mesotherapy to address hydration and fine lines, as well as hyaluronic acid to treat the tear trough area.

Stronger chemical peels can be used with excellent results to treat acne scars, hyperpigmentation, melasma, certain types of skin scarring and may other conditions.

However, not all types of chemical peel are for everyone and they are not effective in all cases. Your doctor will advise you as to what can be achieved and how your skin can benefit from a chemical peel.

HAND AESTHETICS

More and more emphasis is nowadays given in hand appearance, and it is indeed one of the most recent trends in aesthetics. This comes as no surprise, if one is to think that one of the signs of a well-groomed person are clean, looked-after extremities.

Aged hands can indeed giveaway so much more information about yourself than you think, and of course we are not just referring to your age.

Dark spots appearing on the hand skin with age can be successfully treated by chemical peels and loss of volumes can be restored by hyaluronic acid flllers.

EXCESSIVE TRANSPIRATION

The excessive production of sweat can be very disabling and affects both men and women. Our body is covered in sweat glands, but the most common areas affected by this are the hands and armpits.

Botox injections can treat these symptoms and reduce the amount of sweat produced by those glands considerably, to normal levels.

Treatment of those areas with Botox takes approximately 20 minutes. Local anesthetic cream is applied to the concerned areas to minimize discomfort. The treatment is reversible and needs to be repeated every 6-12 months.

The procedure is very safe, and the sweat glands are not damaged by the injections.
